The natural hygiene movement

This health movement formed 1822 in the USA and amongst others was founded by Sylvester Graham and

Dr. Isaac Jennings. It implies that Health results from a healthy living and accordding to this certain way of life our body´s self-healing powers are mobilised and invigorated.

Being healthy is a normal condition. And if the basic needs are met relaxation and well-being establish themselves and so illnesses can be avoided.

In order for us to achieve this well-balanced state certain conditions must be met at all levels.

The human basic needs that significantly contribute to a healthy life:

 1. Fresh and clean air

 2. Pure water

 3. Food we are biologically adapted to (best organic)

 4. Adequate sleep

 5. Rest, relaxation and recovery breaks

 6. Movement

 7. Sunlight

 8. Pleasant temperatures

 9. Cleanliness and an environment free of toxins

10. Peace, harmony and placidity

11. Social cooperation, humanity, friendship and community

12. Spirituality, meditation and reflection

13. Love and acceptance

14. Play and fun, humour and laughter

15. Inspiration, motivation, meaning and engagement

16. Self-mastery and self-determination

17. Sexual activity

18. Satisfaction of aesthetic needs of our senses

19. Self-confidence, a positive self-perception and emotional balance

20. Love of nature

21. Music and art

22. Security of basic needs

The natural hygiene movement also became known in Germany and I successfully completed their remote course to become a Health practitioner for natural health with the Fit For Life College in 2004.

What I really like about this is their truly holistic aproach and the idea that the body´s intelligence is wise enough, if we just let it do it´s work!

You can only gain true well-being and health when you take care of yourself on all levels.

What is wealth? Wellness and health!!!

On this page I will focus on the diet as all in all would be to extensive. And individual differences lead to more diversity....

Everybody should e.g. find the form of movement, Relaxation etc. (and teachers for this) that suits them best and he/she enjoy.

I think the basics of the biologically adapted diet are pretty much the same for everyone, since we are fruit- and plant-eating creatures. These foods should preferably be enjoyed naturally and unprocessed, meaning raw.

According to Natural Hygiene unmixed would be optimal to ensure an optimal digestion. But I must say I think this is quite unrealistic for most people if living in today´s world and having different conditionings. Raw food in itself often already is a challenge ... ;-).

Therefore simple recipes, nicely arranged, with only a few ingredients and in the right combination are a good possibility to unite culture and nature in a healthy way.

Whoever wants to dive deeper is free to do so but I just love to e.g. eat my fill with Mangoes and to feel the satisfaction that then comes from inside and just enjoy the simplicity of life.

But I do also love my recipes and the creativity and the pleasure associated with this!

It is the core area of my work to provide individual support. To meet everybody at their level and to change their diet at their pace and according to their preferences (not everybody likes the same fruit and veg) and to gain more and more freedom!

When I start my consultations I of course also address the other topics and see if these basic needs are also

met so that preferebly all requirements for physical, emotional and mental well-being are given and we then develop recommendations if anything can be improved.

Healthy food alone won`t make you happy. But with a good diet you simply have more energy and time for everything else in life that is important to you.

Not to forget that a good gut flora even has an effect on the brain and thus also on our psyche and not only ensures a good immune system, but also a clear mind!

All is one and that is exactly what we should take care of. Because without health everything is nothing!
