And how does it work?
Make fruit part of your meal or even your main meal!
Eat greens and vegetables!
Reduce fat considerably!
Nobody will be filled and satisfied with just 2 apples for breakfast! Depending on size they only have 100-150 calories.
For comparrison: a bread roll on its own already has abt. 300 calories.
I would like to say that I have never ever counted calories for dieting purposes before in my life.
I only started and did this at the beginning of my 80/10/10 diet. Not to eat less but as a guidance to knowing that I had eaten enough!
Who actually knows whether they have had enough fruit, because in our culture this is only considered a healthy snack. And nowadays nobody is used to eating one´s fill with just fruit.
Quite a bit of change, adjustment and practise ist needed. But don´t worry. Eventually you know better and better what and how much you need! I stopped counting calories a long time ago...
Then the miracle happens. You feel a satisfaction fom the inside out, you loose the interest in eating and can simply stop. Without forcing yourself or even having to bring up strength and disciplin. It´s not listening to reason but listening to your gut feeling when to stop. This is a really pleasant and light kind of satisfaction and miles away from any feeling of overeating, tiredness and discomfort.
After such a meal you feel like going for a run!
An example: 5 bananas have abt. 500 calories. That already sounds a bit different doesn´t it?
So, eat enough fruit during the day to make sure you get enough carbohydrates. Add something green if needed as most people are not used to eating one´s fill with something sweet and then miss the savory part.
When you get more familiar with it you feel so content that a desire for cooked food does absolutely not come up anymore. Then you even are full up and have had enough with just a fruit mono meal.
Craving for complex carbohydrates shows that you have eaten too little fresh ripe fruit.
Latest until evening you should definitely eat a big salad with plenty of green so that the nutritional mineral balance is right.
A craving for salt just shows that you have hat to little minerals from lettuce, leaves, herbs, vegetables or also tomatoes and cucumbers.
Generally it can be said that a minimum of 2% of your calories should come from leafy greens. But of course the more the better.
This could mean 2 heads of lettuce or a couple of celery stalks, herbs etc..
Once you get used to it you will not want to do without!
Eating this form of a raw food diet does absolutely not mean that you just live on fruit!!!
Here also the flaw is not the fuit. It´s the whole package. Without my greens I wouldn´t make it.
So please take to heart, it is important for the balance in your diet. Otherwise all the fruit is no use.
If you want to live free of cravings and provided with all nutrients you need both!!!
This lifestyle only works in the long run if it is well-balanced.
For supper you might also have a small amount of fat, e.g. abt. 30 g nuts or seeds or a small avocado with your salad.
If you like it good and solid you can mix a big portion of creamy sauce with a small amount of fat and fruit/vegetables and create hearty recipies with this!
And by the way: If you still feel like eating dates or something else sweet after supper, you didn´t eat enough fruit during the day ... :-).
If you have a day with higher fat intake, e.g. birthdays, other holidays or potlucks, you can simply compensate this by just cutting out any fat the next day. So that in the end you always reach the recommended amount on average
Knowing all this it gets easier and easier to translate appetite into a healthy hunger.
Then your body shows you that you´d rather have a banana shake instead of some fat enriched zucchini pasta. You can still have these in the evening with a low-fat sauce. Then you´ve got all your carbohydrate intake for the day and don´t even get the idea of maybe wanting "proper" pasta afterwards.
To eat a healthy raw food diet we simply have to learn to interpret our hunger differently to satisfy it properly. We can´t just transform our cooked food diet into a raw version. This is what then often lets it fail.
Cooking is a cultural process and doesn´t really have anything to do with a natural, biologically adapted diet for us humans. And therefore this can not just be transfered one to one into raw food.
Our appetite was taught and trained and so can not help us reliably anymore.
Very often it has become a habit or even turned into an addiction.
If we want to break new ground we need to leave the old paths!
Why not simply transform much-loved dishes into low fat raw versions?
This kind of diet does not mean we have to eat everything individually and unmixed, like the dear monkeys.
Although I must say it gets more fun over time...
Good combinations and with little fat you can create the most exquisite recipes. These are really delicious, easy to digest and leave you filled and satisfied!
Even if I don´t feel like eating real pasta any more, I still like to have tender vegtable spagetti on my plate. It just looks so nice.
Or a nice juicy wrap, summer-rolls or how about a sandwhich?
This all works with fruit and vegetables and a little to no fat.
And the best thing is: Over time you like your food more and more when it´s juicy, crisp and fresh!
This mushy, fatty texture just looses attraction. It even appears unappetising.
Sure .. this dosen´t necessarily happen overnight. But it will!
And the additional positve effect: The cooked food also looses it´s attraction more and more.
When using copied gourmet recipes it is only one small step back to the old habits.
But consuming real fresh raw food for a longer period of time it gets increasingly harder to imagine cooked food.
My recipes work without the typical sesoning and additions because they just taste great like that!
So ... they are suitable for everybody who wants to eat according to the natural Hygienics.
Okay ... if you still need this for the transition period. Everyone at their own pace.
But I just love to make recipes taste good because of their ingredients and not because of the "cooked".
And how lovely when they then are also good for you and don't weigh you down...
An unimaginable moving on to new pastures. To experiences you probably haven´t had yet as almost all traditions don´t just boil with water ...
Or do you know anybody who grew up on boiled potatoes and steamed veggies?
With this way of living you definitely get your excess fat (and stimulants) out of your food . And you will like it once you know what it feels like and how it tastes!
Because this just is beyond words ...

P.S.:
Generally I think a diet rich in carbohydrates and low in fat is the Best!
For all those who are not necessarily aiming for a mere raw food diet or prefer a slow transition I think a plant based diet with cooked carbohydrates and a high raw food percentage makes the most sense.
So it´s better to now and again have a jacket potatoe, rice or quinoa with your salad instead of getting caught in the fat trap.
I highly recommend the book „China Study“!
